<p><strong><span>How do I tell if I am depressed or just stressed-out?</span></strong></p>
<p><span> </span>First you should now that depression is a label for a set of symptoms. Depression is not like the flu or the measles where you can get a blood test and confirm you have it or not. Any depression test or depression screening is just looking for depression symptoms.</p>
<p>A good way to get an idea if you are depressed or stressed-out is to see how many of life’s major stressors you are experiencing right now.</p>
</p>
<p>Are serious health challenges robbing you of your zest for living?</p>
<p>Does it seem impossible to get over the loss of a loved one?</p>
<p>Has a painful divorce dimmed your hopes for a brighter future?</p>
<p>Do your financial problems keep you awake at night or cause friction in your marriage?</p>
<p>Have you lost your job or are you living in fear that you might lose your job?</p>
<p>The more life stressors you are experiencing, the more likely you are feeling either depressed or stressed-out or both.</p>
</p>
<p><strong><span>Which comes first, the chicken or the egg…depression or stress? </span></strong></p>
<p>Why am I depressed? Is it just stress? That’s a good question and the answer is not that black and white. However, I can tell you that numerous scientific studies indicate that if you been stressed too long it can lead you into feeling depressed or what we call depression.</p>
<p>That makes sense doesn’t it? The more major life stressors that get piled on you at the same time…the more stressed-out you feel. Doesn’t it feel sometimes as if each stressful situation feeds on the next and piles another ton of bricks on your shoulders?</p>
<p>The longer you stay stressed by your unresolved life issues, the deeper your stressed-out feelings become. Stay stressed-out too long and if can feel is if weight of your life situations are pressing down on you. In time, you can begin to wonder&#8230;Am I depressed?</p>
<p>Not only can stress can lead to depression, but being depressed can add to your stress, which can add to your sense of being depressed. If you stay in that vicious cycle too long it can have a detrimental effect on every area of your life; health, relationships, career and finances.</p>
<p><strong><span>How does depression and stress effect your overall well being?</span></strong></p>
<p>Depression and stress can have a detrimental effect on your ability to solve your toughest life problems. <span> </span></p>
<p>When you get stressed out, your brain automatically shuts down the most highly evolved part of your brain, your frontal lobes. As soon as your frontal lobes shut down, you lose all of the functions that make you most human. You lose the following key abilities:</p>
<p><span><span>·<span> </span></span></span>Your ability to imagine a brighter future for yourself.</p>
<p><span><span>·<span> </span></span></span>Making plans for how you achieve your goals</p>
<p><span><span>·<span> </span></span></span>Accessing your intuition and making good decisions. The exact decisions that you need to make to resolve your life issues and move you forward toward your dreams.</p>
<p><span><span>·<span> </span></span></span>Lastly, when you are stressed out of your frontal lobes, you can’t see yourself as you truly are; someone fully capable of going after and attaining your heart’s desire.</p>
<p>When you frontal lobes are shut down due to stress and depression, you lose the sense of adventure you had as an innocent little child…as an adult, you may have temporarily lost the ability to fearlessly taking on tasks that entail risk, like when you learned to walk or ride a bike.</p>
<p><strong>That’s not the end of the bad news though. </strong>Not only is your ability to solve any of your problems shut off, your overall health and well-being generally gets shut down by your brain in a stress response.</p>
<p>Your immune system shuts down and your digestion system also shuts down. Your brain rushes blood away from these parts of the body, just the way it does with your frontal lobes. Is sends the blood to the muscles in your arms and legs so you can “fight or flight” the perceived threat.</p>
<p>In our modern world, it has become more likely that the enemy you perceive is only imagined. We no longer have lions or tigers or bears threatening us.</p>
<p>However, your brain reacts the same to an imaged threat as it does to a clear and present danger. Keep reading to find out how the Brain Power ON Program can help you manage your brain so it isn’t taking you into depression and stress in response to false perceptions of exaggerated or non-existent threats.</p>
<p>If your immune system and digestion shuts down for too long, your chances of chronic disease from stroke to cancer go up significantly.</p>
<p>Stress and depression can rob you of your precious energy and have you feeling fatigued, even exhausted before the day is anywhere close to being over. If you start to lose steam before your day is over, that’s another indication that you may be too stressed-out or even depression.</p>
<p><strong><span>What you can do to recover your power and overcome depression and end stress?</span></strong></p>
<p>There are lots of things you can do to reduce your symptoms of depression and give you some stress relief.</p>
<p><span><span>·<span> </span></span></span>Exercise Take a walk in nature or attend a yoga class.</p>
<p><span><span>·<span> </span></span></span>Take supplements like vitamin D, B12, and fish oil to name a few</p>
<p><span><span>·<span> </span></span></span>Take a nice long hot bath with Epsom salt and baking soda</p>
<p><span><span>·<span> </span></span></span>Get a nice relaxing massage</p>
<p>You can do any or all of these things and you will get some temporary stress relief, but you have to go deeper if you want a permanently stress eraser and depression dissolver.</p>
<p>Lasting change takes getting to the root cause. The root cause is a repeating pattern stored in your brain’s collection of brain cells that I call a NeuroPattern. <span> </span>Here are the 6 steps to must take to make lasting change:</p>
<p><span>1.<span> </span></span>Write out where you are and where you want to be. For example, I’m stressed out and depressed and I want to be free and powerful.</p>
<p><span>2.<span> </span></span>Become aware of your stress/depression pattern. Objectify it by drawing it out on a piece of paper.</p>
<p><span>3.<span> </span></span>Destabilize your pattern so that it becomes easier to change</p>
<p><span>4.<span> </span></span>Define the pattern you’d prefer to be in, that is, the emotions and thoughts that will most empower you.<span> </span></p>
<p><span>5.<span> </span></span>Rewire a brand new neuro pathway and move out of the stressful and depressive pattern you’ve been stuck in and move into the most empowering state of being you can imagine.</p>
<p><span>6.<span> </span></span>Finally, you&#8217;ll want to complete your process by stabilizing your most empowering pattern, the one you’ve just created, so your attention stays there. Having your attention stuck in an empower state, rather than a disempowering state, naturally propels you forward in your life, toward your dreams and goals.<span> </span></p>
<p><strong><span>Conclusion</span></strong></p>
<p>If you’re feeling depressed or stressed-out, your brain is out of control. It’s automatically reacting to your life’s stressful situations, throwing your brain chemistry off and taking you spirally downward. Stress and depression are feeding each other to accelerate your downward spiral. Your health and your quality of life are suffering and you’re at risk of things getting worse if you stay stuck in being stressed-out and wondering am I depressed.</p>
<p>As outlined above, there are many things you can do to strengthen your body so it can deal with stress better. However, these tactics generally provide only temporary stress relief.</p>
<p>If you want lasting change, you’ll need to regain deliberate control over your brain and recover you ability to use your frontal lobes so you can easily solve your life problems.</p>
<p>I’ve personally gone through the land of feeling stressed-out and depressed all the time and I’m happy to tell you I’ve come out the other side. My journey brought me to neuroscience and eventually to the discovery of the Brain Power ON Program.</p>

<p>Hi, my name is Donald McKinnon. I am the founder of NeuroPattern Dynamics, the developer of the Brain Power On Programs and the author of the ebook, Brain Power On; Stress Gone.</p>

<p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">UnRealized Potential</span></strong></p>
<p>I knew I had great potential, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t seem to actualize my real potential. Sound familiar? I completed a business degree and participated in several start-up businesses. None of these businesses became the success I had envisioned.</p>
<p>At times, I thought there must be some invisible force holding me back. Do you know what I mean? But at the same time, deep down inside, I also suspected that my internal programming was causing my limitations and sabotaging my success. I was determined to find the truth.  <span> </span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">My Personal Quest</span></strong></p>
<p>Over a 30 year period, I spent more than $60,000 on self development programs that all promised paradigm shifts and breakthroughs. I found these programs provided temporary highs, but even the most blissful high faded in a matter of days or weeks at most. I was left with a smaller balance in my bank account and No Significant…Lasting…Change. If you’ve been down the self development path, you know just what I’m talking about?</p>
<p>I also spent thousands of hours using a wide range of techniques from at least a dozen self development and spiritual programs including; EST, meditation, Avatar, Holodynamics, EFT, EMDR, the Law of Attraction, to name a few. After processing myself for months with the latest technique, I generally found that any changes I experienced didn’t last long.<span> </span>I often found that I was right back where I started.<span> </span></p>
<p>I found some techniques worked in certain situations, but not all situations. Other techniques worked for me, but didn’t always work for my coaching clients. Eventually, I developed a quest . I sought the Holy Grail of Self Development Techniques, that is, a process that would work reliably for everyone, every time, and in any situation. My quest has not been in vain.</p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Jazzed about Neuro Science</span></strong></p>
<p>About two years ago, my Quest took a turn for the better when I stumbled upon a neuro scientist named Mark Evan Furman. Mark had developed a newly emerging branch of science known as Cognitive Neuro Physics. In Cognitive Neuro Physics, I found techniques that were based on neuron science and the laws of physics. I like the laws of physics because they are reliable and like gravity they work every time. <span> </span></p>
<p>I remember the first time I created a new neural connection in my mind/brain using the laws of physics. I created a pathway out of doubt and into confidence. In that moment, my whole life changed. The people, events and situations that used to automatically take me into doubt now took me into confidence. I no longer felt stuck in doubt and I began to feel myself rooted in confidence.</p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">How to Make Your Life Easier</span></strong></p>
<p>I studied directly with Mar Furman for about one year. I found the information and techniques developed by him to be very effective. However, his process was very complicated and time consuming. Even though it worked every time, almost no one I knew continued to use his process. It was just too complicated and time consuming for most people.</p>
<p>Next, I spent another year extensively studying what neuron science had to tell us about the structures of the brain, brain chemistry, memory, trauma and stress. In fact, I learned so much about stress that I wrote an ebook on how to stop stress.
